How we handle personal data submitted through this website. Last updated: 3 August 2026.

The short version

We collect the details you type into our inquiry form, and we use them to respond to your inquiry. We do not sell your data, we do not send marketing you did not ask for, and this site sets no tracking cookies. If you want your data deleted, email us and we will delete it.

01

Who we are

Egyptalum Company ("we", "us") is an industrial commodities trading company registered in the State of South Carolina, USA, filing number 260615-1423255, with offices at 433 Rockville Rd, Moncks Corner, SC 29461, United States.

For any question about this policy or your data, contact sales@egyptalumcompany.com or call +1 (843) 890-1539. We are the data controller for information submitted through this website.

02

What we collect

Information you give us. When you submit the inquiry form, we receive: your name, company name, email address, telephone number, country, the role you selected, the product category, grade or alloy, quantity, delivery term, destination port, required timing, and the free-text specification and notes you write.

Information collected automatically. When the form is submitted, our server records the IP address the submission came from and the date and time. This is used solely to identify and block automated spam. Our hosting provider also keeps standard web server access logs.

What we do not collect. This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising trackers, and does not build a profile of your browsing. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

03

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

We use the information you submit to respond to your inquiry, to approach suppliers on your behalf where relevant, to prepare and send a quotation, and to carry out any transaction that follows.

For inquirers in the UK and European Economic Area, our lawful bases are: taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) UK/EU GDPR) for handling your inquiry and quoting; legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for maintaining business records and preventing spam and fraudulent submissions; and legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) where trade, customs, sanctions-screening or tax law requires us to retain records.

04

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

We share only what is necessary, and only with: suppliers, producers and distributors we approach to source your requirement — normally the technical specification, quantity and destination, and your identity only where the transaction requires it; freight forwarders, carriers, inspection bodies and customs brokers engaged for your shipment; banks involved in the payment instrument; and our service providers, principally Namecheap, Inc. (Phoenix, Arizona, USA), who provide our website hosting and email.

We may also disclose information where required by law, court order, or applicable sanctions and export-control obligations.

05

International transfers

We are based in the United States and our website and email are hosted in the United States. If you contact us from the UK, the EEA or elsewhere, your data will be transferred to and stored in the US, and may be transferred onward to suppliers and logistics providers in other countries as needed to fulfill your inquiry.

Where such a transfer is made from the UK or EEA, we rely on the transfer being necessary for the performance of a contract with you or for pre-contractual steps taken at your request, or on appropriate safeguards where required.

06

Third-party content on this site

This site loads its typeface from Google Fonts. As a result, your browser makes a request to Google's servers, which discloses your IP address to Google. We do not control and do not receive that data. No other third-party content, script or tracker is loaded by this website.

07

How long we keep it

Inquiries that do not lead to a transaction are retained for up to 24 months, then deleted. Records relating to a completed transaction are retained for at least 7 years to meet US tax, customs and trade record-keeping obligations. Server spam logs are retained for 12 months.

08

Your rights

Subject to the law that applies to you, you may ask us to: give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you; correct it if it is wrong; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; or provide it in a portable format. You may also withdraw consent where we relied on consent.

To exercise any of these, email sales@egyptalumcompany.com. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.

If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, so no opt-out is required, but you may still contact us to exercise your other rights. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.

09

Security

This website is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the form is encrypted in transit. Submissions are delivered to our business email and stored on our hosting account with access restricted to authorized personnel. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.

Please do not send bank account details, payment instructions or other highly sensitive information through the website form. Those belong in a secured channel agreed with us directly.

10

Children

This is a business-to-business website. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

11

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes affecting people who have already contacted us will be notified by email where we hold a valid address.
